Cemcor is one of the largest cement and quarrying specialists in Northern Ireland. The organisation operates lots of facilities and sites across the country, including a limestone quarry in Cookstown, a shale quarry in Dungannon, and an import and export facility in Belfast Harbour.
Cemcor is committed to investing in improving its processes, as well as reducing the carbon footprint of its Cookstown plant. By implementing IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) – a best-in-class enterprise asset management software – throughout the facility, it puts Cemcor in the perfect position to do both of these things.
Peacock Engineering is widely recognised as one of the UK’s best MAS implementation specialists, with lots of experience in Northern Ireland plants. Cemcor therefore signed a three-year-deal with us to carry out this project and help them reach their goals.
Ensuring Cemcor leverages key benefits from MAS
Maximo Application Suite will enable Cemcor to gain better insight into the assets at the Cookstown plant, supporting in the maintenance programmes and management of its diverse asset base, which includes a wide range of complex machinery and heavy equipment such as dumper trucks, stone crushers, conveyors, stone mills, granulators, and drying kilns.
Another of Cemcor’s top priorities is further investing in improving processes, sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint of its Cookstown plant.
By extending our partnership, they will now be able to leverage Maximo Application Suite as it comes to market, and gain invaluable insight into:
- Finding solutions to EAM inefficiencies
- Solving maintenance challenges
- Increasing the lifespan of essential equipment
- Decreasing downtime and associated costs
- Measuring (and reducing) carbon emissions
Cemcor now has a comprehensive single platform for intelligent asset management, monitoring, maintenance, computer vision, safety and reliability, enabling the company to have a 360-degree, real time view of its asset base, across multiple sites simultaneously, if needed.
Peacock Engineering completed the initial phase of the project in just a few months, making it one of the first, and quickest, major implementations of IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) in the UK.
Matt Deadman, Chief Operations Officer at Peacock Engineering, said:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Cemcor over the course of the next few years. We have already completed the first stage of our change programme with the successful delivery of its new enterprise asset management system.
MAS will provide Cemcor with a clearer view of its assets, which include heavy plant and processing equipment, and help in mitigating the current challenges found in its maintenance programme.
We are looking forward to working with Cemcor over the next few years to ensure its EAM solution continues to deliver the service level and efficiencies needed to meet its organisational objectives.”
