Representatives from the Peacock Engineering team were pleased to attend the first ‘Think’ event to be held at IBM’s new flagship offices in York Road, London last month.
Alan Cambridge (CEO) and Matt Deadman (COO) found the day extremely valuable as they were briefed about IBM’s strategy in the market; their focus areas for the future; and the new technologies IBM plans to announce. In the post-lockdown world they were also able to network with like-minded peers in person, re-establishing valuable connections whilst sharing the opportunity to view the new innovative facilities on offer to IBM Business Partners.
The event’s expert-to-attendee ratio facilitated the opportunity for extensive and insightful conversations about the specific challenges facing Peacock’s customers, creating vital feedback for the wider Peacock team as part of our ongoing commitment to always offer exemplary products and services.
The only Maximo® partner in attendance
As the only IBM Maximo® core partner in attendance, the Peacock Engineering team were proud to be contributing to the thought leadership discussions taking place. With over a hundred professionals and industry experts in the venue, this was a valuable opportunity to learn and grow alongside those at the forefront of driving our industry forwards.
Of particular interest was the insight and exclusive announcements about IBM’s recent acquisition of a new product: Envizi, which is designed to help organisations manage both their sustainability and their carbon output. This new technology will undoubtedly be of interest to our customers in the future and so we look forward to continuing the conversations started on the day.
Excellent networking opportunities
Throughout the IBM Think event, both Alan and Matt benefitted from excellent networking opportunities with thought leaders in the Enterprise Asset Management space: specifically making some new connections in the healthcare space. As Peacock Engineering have extensive experience and excellent references in this sector, this opportunity led to a very productive follow-up meeting merely days after Think to discuss an upcoming collaborative partnership.
Finally, this was a good opportunity for the Peacock Engineering team to catch-up with Chris Wynn, Cloud Sales Specialist at IBM and thank him for his ongoing support. Matt, Alan and the team have been working closely with Chris and the IBM Cloud team to accelerate our understanding of the new Maximo® Application Suite (MAS8), and how we can use MAS8 to further enhance our, already compelling, solutions.
Chris Wynn, IBM Cloud Sales Specialist, commented:
“It’s great to see Peacock Engineering attending these events and continuing to heavily invest in better understanding IBM Cloud technology. This in turn will benefit Maximo® customers, who are looking at the Partner Network to guide them on their cloud journey with MAS8″
Considering the future of 5G
A recurring theme during the day, was the future of Private 5G networks. Peacock Engineering had a particular interest in this subject, due to the dispersed nature of some of our clients.
One session, ran in partnership with Microsoft and IBM, outlined the future use cases of highspeed, reliable, private 5G networks. Clients in the Facilities management (FM) or Utilities industry for example, could benefit from increased worker safety by knowing exactly where lone workers in remote locations are at any one time.
An important event for our ongoing partnership with IBM
IBM Think reinforced IBM’s ongoing commitment to both their business partners and the channel. The message continually reiterated at the event was that IBM business partners are critical to their success, and their strategy of ‘Channel and Business Partners First’ was evident throughout the day.
The next IBM Think event in London is in September 2022 and Peacock Engineering are very much looking forward to attending again!
